It’s been announced that Human Head Studios have joined forces with Trendy Entertainment for the release of Dungeon Defenders II later this year. The original was released by Trendy Entertainment back in 2010, but now the pair are preparing to showcase brand new footage of its sequel at next week’s E3 expo.

The game is currently sat in Early Access via Steam, but will be arriving fully as a free-to-play title for PC and PS4 later this year. It will be a third-person, action tower defence game with RPG elements, thus retaining much of the formula of the original title.

Human Head Studios were brought on board to aid the game’s PS4 version after their work with titles like Prey and Rune.

The current E3 trailer (above) showcases the chaotic action sequences that players will be able to expect from the game’s campaign, while offering a brief look at split-screen and co-op modes at the end. It’ll be the co-op modes that E3-goers will be able to experience at the studios’ booth, though, so we can expect to see more on this once the conference commences on Sunday.
