Ubisoft has begun polling Far Cry fans about which direction they would like to see the franchise head in the future.

That’s according to a comprehensive questionnaire obtained by Eurogamer, with the French publisher including options that would see an installment in the first-person series take the bombastic action to Vietnam, while others would introduce the likes of vampires and zombies — because why the hell not, right?

Here’s that list of possible scenarios:

A Far Cry game in remote Alaska about surviving extreme wilderness
A Far Cry game in a futuristic, sci-fi setting on another planet
A Far Cry game set in the Vietnam war during the 1960s
A Far Cry game set in the cocaine trafficking jungles of Peru
A Far Cry game where you can fight against or join vampires
A Far Cry game in the Spaghetti Western style set in the 19th century Americas
A Far Cry game that is set during a zombie outbreak
Blood Dragon 2: A sequel to Blood Dragon
A Far Cry game set in a Mad Max-style post-apocalyptic world
A Far Cry game in the present day on a Jurassic Park style island of dinosaurs
A Far Cry game based on the world of Shangri-La from Far Cry 4

From the Wild West to a Jurassic Park-like setting, it seems Ubisoft wants to blow the doors open for the next iteration in the series, be it a fully-fledged release or a self-contained batch of DLC in the vein of Blood Dragon. It’s an intriguing list, one no doubt inspired by some of cinema’s greatest genres, though it all remains confined to the proverbial drawing board at this time.

Even still, news that Ubisoft is considering some of these options for the inevitable Far Cry 5 is refreshing to hear, especially considering how similar Far Cry 4 and its predecessor are in terms of gameplay and story.

Tell us, which option would you vote for in the Far Cry-themed list above? Let us know in the comments.
