Ubisoft has released a new trailer for their upcoming, downloadable sidescroller-RPG hybrid, Child of Light, that takes us behind the scenes of the promising-looking title. Some story details are included as well, as we see main protagonist Aurora, the daughter of an Austrian duke, finding herself in an alternate fantasy world and tasked with saving it.

Specific 18th-century artists are cited as influences on the game’s gorgeous visual style, which is powered by the UbiArt framework that Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends both ran on. The game’s turn-based combat is also touched on, with the development team’s goal being to recreate the style found in classic console RPGs.

Child of Light is scheduled for an April 30th release on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U. Check out the new trailer below and let us know in the comments section if you plan on picking the game up when it releases.
