The PlayStation Vita is just a few short months away, releasing right in the middle of February and today, we’ve learned a little bit more about one of the more anticipated titles for the handheld, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Capcom confirmed via press release this morning that the game will be available as soon as the system launches. Not just when the system gets its official launch on February 22, but the game will be available when the First Edition Bundle with a memory card and the game Little Deviants release a week earlier.

It was also confirmed that the handheld version will not only look just as great as the console versions (as seen in the gallery we’ve got for you below,) but will hold all of the same features, as well as a few extra. The Vita version will have a spectator mode to watch others duke it out online, as well as a replay mode to save your most impressive matches.

Even more interesting, the Vita itself can be used as what’s being called the “Ultimate Controller” for UMvC 3. We’ve included a screen of this in the gallery below as well. The Vita can be used as a replacement for the Dualshock 3s on the PS3 version of the game, and the touchscreen will feature a handful of buttons to pull off combos and special attacks easier, not unlike how the touchscreen is sectioned off for Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition on the 3DS.

Fun fact: If you use the combination of these cheater combo buttons in addition to the beginner mode on UMvC 3, the game plays itself for you. It’s pretty obvious at that point you didn’t want to be bothered actually playing the game anyway.

What say you, gamers? Is this your Vita launch title? It’s certainly mine.
