In the interview – which was helpfully translated by DualShockers – Yoshida goes on to boast that 2016 will be a banner year for Sony’s flagship machines, and he wants you to be excited about it if you own one of their consoles:

2016 marks an unprecedented rush of big titles for PS4. It’s also the year of the long-awaited launch of PlayStation VR. It’s the year PS4 users, and those who are on the fence on whether to buy it will absolutely think “it’s good to have a PS4.” Please look forward to it.

With big titles like Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End just over the horizon for the PS4, it’s easy to see that Yoshida’s claims are coming from a pretty solid place. And with Microsoft already touting their own Xbox’s future, it seems that the big two are ready to come out swinging when the fight for superiority recommences in 2016.
