New Wave Of Amiibo Figures Set For March Release

In case you haven't noticed, Nintendo's Amiibo figures have been rather popular since their November 2014 release. Stories of retailers running low on specific characters have been populating the internet for some time now and it doesn't look like things will be slowing down anytime soon, as The Big N has revealed that another line of figurines will be launching in March.

In case you haven’t noticed, Nintendo’s Amiibo figures have been rather popular since their November 2014 release. Stories of retailers running low on specific characters have been populating the internet for some time now, and it doesn’t look like things will be slowing down anytime soon, as The Big N has revealed that another line of figurines will be launching in March.

Focusing on the recently dated Mario Party 10, this wave will feature redesigns of a few of Nintendo’s most popular faces. Mario, Peach, Luigi and Yoshi, all of whom have already had Amiibos released, will be updated. Bowser, who will be included in next month’s Wave 3, will also be redesigned. Finally, this line-up will also include the debut of Toad, who I’m a little surprised hasn’t been released already.

In addition to this set, Nintendo also announced that another Amiibo collection will be released sometime this spring. That wave will feature Robin, Lucina, Pac-Man, Ness, Wario and Charizard. These figures would presumably work in tandem with the popular Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

To be fully honest, I haven’t hopped on board the Amiibo train yet. I already have enough expenses in my life, and I don’t need to fall down the rabbit hole of collecting Nintendo characters. Much like Skylanders and Disney Infinity, though, I do understand why people are so interested in them. It’s easy to see the appeal.

With no sign of stopping, we will continue to update you on the latest news regarding Nintendo and Amiibo as it becomes available.
