Wii U Will Have 20 Titles On Launch Day

wiiu Wii U Will Have 20 Titles On Launch Day

After last Thursday’s press conference we knew that there would be at least 50 games released during the Wii U launch window, however, we didn’t know which of these games would be available when the system arrives on November 18th. According to a recent update on Nintendo’s official site though, there will be 20 titles for the Wii U on day one.

My first reaction is that it is certainly a healthy list, far more so than what the 3DS had last year. Most of the big exclusives are there, such as ZombiU, New Super Mario Bros. U and Rayman Legends.

A lot of the high-profile Wii U ports are there as well, including Mass Effect 3, Batman: Arkham City Armoured Edition and Epic Mickey 2: The Power Of Two. It’s also nice to see that Assassin’s Creed III and Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 will make it shortly after their launch dates.

Whether or not these third-party games will be successful on Nintendo’s new home console is unknown, but if they are, expect to see more Wii U multi-platform support from developers than there was for the Wii.

The number of high-quality titles available at launch is enough for me to be sold on a Wii U. You can make up your own decision by looking at the full list below:

  • Rayman Legends
  • Black Ops 2
  • Assassin’s Creed III
  • ZombiU
  • Mass Effect 3: Special Edition
  • Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition
  • TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2
  • Scribblenauts Unlimited
  • Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two
  • Rabbids Land
  • Just Dance 4
  • Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth
  • Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
  • MADDEN NFL 13
  • NBA 2K13
  • TRANSFORMERS PRIME
  • Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2013
  • Game Party Champions
  • ESPN Sports Connection
  • Darksiders II
  • Nintendo Land
  • New Super Mario Bros. U

    No Pikmin 3?

    What a disappointment.

Honestly all I’m seeing is one Mario game (which doesnt look much different than the other 2D mario games that have come out) and games that are available on the consoles that I already own. The ‘exclusives’ announced for launch day don’t really warrant a day one buy.

I’ve got a Wii U on reserve just because I know how hard it will be to find one but honesty, I’m considering just cancelling it now. Or maybe I’ll flip it for a quick profit.

Can’t argue with no Pikmin 3 being a disappointment.

Wasn’t really expecting it to make launch, but it would have been a real nice surprise.
