Curve Digital has announced plans to bring its puzzle-platformer sequel Stealth Inc. 2: A Game of Clones to Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PS Vita in the early stages of April.

Previously, the studio’s critically-acclaimed title had been a Wii U exclusive, when it launched for Nintendo’s flagship home console back in October of last year to rave reviews. However, today’s news indicates that Curve’s deal with The Big N lasted approximately six months.

As a matter of fact, the company’s decision to launch Stealth Inc. 2 exclusively on the console — which is struggling to carve out a substantial audience — raised a few eyebrows in the industry. After all, many third-party developers had already turned away from the Wii U precisely because of its meagre install base, but Curve remained faithful to Nintendo’s system due to the fact that its software catalogue has an opening for indies.

“The good thing about releasing on Nintendo is, you’re not competing with a lot of other people,” Curve Studios’ Marketing Manager Rob Clarke said at the time. “Even as an indie publisher we always fight with AAA for space on the storefront. With Nintendo, we know they’re gonna support us. We also know that we’re not having to compete with, say, Watch Dogs for example.”

We’ll keep you posted when Curve gives Stealth Inc. 2 an official release date. For now, tell us, are you excited to see the studio’s acclaimed sequel go multi-platform? Let us know in the comments section below.
