WWE 2K15 Roster Revealed, 2K Sheds Light On Fan Confusion

Stone Cold Steve Austin, along with quite a few other legends and current stars, hosted a panel in celebration of SummerSlam to reveal the roster for WWE 2K15. There wasn't any gameplay on display, but instead, we got stills of each character's selection screen portrait, which was a bit disappointing but hey, finally getting a glimpse at who is making the cut is still an event.

Stone Cold Steve Austin, along with quite a few other legends and current stars, hosted a panel in celebration of SummerSlam to reveal the roster for WWE 2K15. Unfortunately, the roster that was shown is noticeably thin. For comparison, there are only a little over 50 wrestlers confirmed in WWE 2K15, while 82 different stars made it into WWE 2K14. Naturally, this has a lot of gamers and wrestling fans upset, and subsequently glossing over some miscommunication between 2K Games, WWE, and even the stars running the panel.

The list that you see below isn’t the full roster, even though that’s what we we were promised to receive. 2K’s website simply states that the full thing is coming soon. Furthermore, if you have seen the leaked screenshot out of Gamescom that shows off the character selection screen, you will notice that there are 92 square tiles. So essentially, there are a hell of a lot more announcements to come for WWE 2K15.

What this likely means is that 2K is holding off on revealing legends and NXT superstars. Remember that there will be a career mode in this year’s edition of the game, hinting towards NXT and its talents playing a role in developing your character. It’s also worth noting that any semi-big names missing will probably be released soon after the game’s launch as DLC. That means if you’re like me and upset that Paige and Bo Dallas aren’t listed, there is still a chance for them to be in the game. You just gotta Bo-lieve!

Anyway, without any further conjecture, here is the confirmed list of selectable wrestlers so far:

AJ Lee
Alberto Del Rio
