With little under a month until its release, Turtle Rock Studios is placing all hands on deck in order to stoke the embers of excitement for Evolve — the company’s 4 vs. 1 co-opeartive shooter.

Due to roar onto the scene on February 10, the title is set to host its second open beta on January 15 across all platforms, though those who pre-purchase the game on Xbox One will be able to control new in-game characters as well as the recently-revealed assassin-like monster, the Wraith. Speaking of which, this incentive isn’t limited to the upcoming phase of testing, as Xbox One players will be able to jump into the shoes of monster hunters belonging to the “third tier” from day one.

Under normal circumstances, these characters — Parnell, Abe, Caira, Cabot, to be specific — can be unlocked as your progress through Evolve‘s quasi-campaign. As for PC, Turtle Rock went on to detail the minimum and recommended requirements to run the game on the platform, and the results are, as you’d imagine, pretty intensive.

Minimum requirements:

Intel CPU: Core 2 Duo E6600
AMD CPU: Athlon 64 X2 6400
System RAM: 4GB
NVIDIA Video Card: GeForce GTX 560
ATI Video Card: Radeon HD 5770
Video Memory: 1GB
Hard Drive: 50GB
OS: Windows 7 64-bit

Recommended requirements:

Intel CPU: Core i7-920
AMD CPU: A8-3870K
System RAM: 6GB
NVIDIA Video Card: GeForce GTX 670 or GTX 760
ATI Video Card: Radeon R9 280
Video Memory: 2GB
Hard Drive: 50GB

Evolve‘s second open beta will kick off in earnest this Thursday, January 15. In order to whet your appetite, why not check out the explosive intro cinematic that showcases some of game’s monster-hunting action.
