Stylish Fan-Made Concept Trailer For A Nightmare On Elm Street Reboot Creeps Online

YouTuber Tommy Ross has cut together a wonderfully stylish concept trailer for A Nightmare On Elm Street, revealing the reboot we all want to see.

Though he’s been dogged by one creative setback after another, it’s really a question of when – rather than if – Freddy Krueger will return.

Last we reported, an online petition called for Bill Moseley, star of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2The Devil’s Rejects and House of 1000 Corpses, to headline a possible reboot of Nightmare On Elm Street. Over on YouTube, though, one talented horror fan has cut together the next best thing: an eerie concept trailer that heralds the return of Krueger and his nightmarish reign.

It’s a decidedly artsy, low-key take on the clawed serial killer (h/t Bloody Disgusting), who defies death only to rack up a body count of his own. Having tackled the likes of Evil Dead and other horror franchises, Tommy Ross’ take on Elm Street ought to be celebrated, as it alludes to the reboot we all want to see.

“My FAN MADE concept trailer for a reboot/sequel to the iconic horror franchise, A Nightmare on Elm Street,” he writes. “I want a new Elm Street film more than I want mental stability. Considering how imaginative, eccentric, and creative the Elm Street films are, I think that a new film told with today’s modern technology could be really mindblowing.”

Robert Englund in A Nightmare on Elm Street

Ross’ YouTube post continues by asking Warner Bros. and New Line to bring Robert Englund back as Freddy, despite the fact that the actor himself is somewhat hesitant about returning to the famous role.

If they just can’t find a way to make it work without Englund as Freddy, how ’bout an Elm Street Cinematic Universe? Freddy can’t be the only one out there who made a deal with the dream demons and began haunting peoples’ nightmares. It’d be neat to see a new, different character who seeks vengeance in the dreams of the ones who did him/her wrong. Actually, I want this regardless.

We’ll know more once Warner and New Line’s future plans for A Nightmare on Elm Street begin to unravel, but for the time being, you can sink your teeth into Ross’ fan-made showcase up above.
