Aaron Eckhart – the stud known for roles like Harvey Dent in The Dark Knightwill be cracking skulls as Frankenstein’s monster in the film adaptation of the comic book I, Frankenstein from Lionsgate.

In the Darkstorm comic book, the monster is the hero standing between the human race and an uprising of supernatural baddies, in a storyline that brings together a handful of legendary monster characters, such as Dracula and the Invisible Man.

Eckhart has proven his leading man skills in almost every genre, and I think The Dark Knight proved that he can be a confusing mix of good and bad, which seems to be where the Frankenstein character is going. Plus, we already know that he looks awesome with a decaying face.

I, Frankenstein will be written and directed by Stuart Beattie, known for the original Pirates of the Caribbean movie and 30 Days of Night, and the film will begin filming in July.

Do you believe Aaron Eckhart as an action hero? Better yet, do you believe Eckhart as Frankenstein’s monster? Let us know in the comments.
