Adam Sandler Is Nowhere To Be Found On First Poster For The Cobbler

Though he's been putting out nothing but garbage for some time now, I still have a little bit of faith in Adam Sandler. When he flexes his dramatic chops he can be surprisingly effective, and he still manages to give a quality performance every now and then. So, it's with cautious optimism that I approach The Cobbler, his latest effort.

UPDATE: The poster has been removed at the studio’s request.

Though he’s been putting out nothing but garbage for some time now, I still have a little bit of faith in Adam Sandler. When he flexes his dramatic chops he can be surprisingly effective, and he still manages to give a quality performance every now and then. So, it’s with cautious optimism that I approach The Cobbler, his latest effort.

The Thomas McCarthy-directed movie will make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next week and today, we have the very first poster for the fantasy drama. You can check it out below, but unfortunately, it doesn’t really offer very much. Sandler is oddly absent and instead, we simply get a tagline, the film’s title and a pair of shoes. That’s about it. Still, I am looking forward to this one, and have been for a while, so any bit of marketing material is appreciated.

The Cobbler premieres at TIFF next weekend but is still without a U.S. release date. Expect that to change in the coming weeks though. For now, check out the poster and plot summary below and let us know if you’re planning on catching this one when it touches down in Toronto.
