Mockingbird Could Transfer From Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. To The Avengers

When anyone is cast on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., it raises the question of whether or not that character will then make the jump from the small screen to the silver screen and join the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. One such question arose this past summer when Friday Night Lights and G.I. Joe: Retaliation actress Adrianne Palicki joined Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Bobbi Morse a.k.a. Mockingbird, a member of the Avengers in the comics and the eventual wife of Hawkeye, who's played by Jeremy Renner.

When anyone is cast on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., it immediately raises the question of whether or not that character could then make the jump from the small screen to the silver screen and join the rest of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One such question arose this past summer when Friday Night Lights and G.I. Joe: Retaliation actress Adrianne Palicki joined Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Bobbi Morse a.k.a. Mockingbird, a member of the Avengers in the comics and the eventual wife of Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner).

And while it’s completely possible that Mockingbird could appear on the big screen someday, it was previously unclear if that was a viable option. According to Palicki herself, however, it’s not only possible, but it’s already been discussed.

When promoting her upcoming film John Wick, Palicki spoke with IGN and said the following about playing Bobbi Morse, who debuts on the series as the head of Hydra security:

“Bobbi Morse is another badass character. She has been working with S.H.I.E.L.D. for a bit… She gets along with the team very well.”

When asked if there was a chance that she join the ranks of the Avengers someday, she revealed that that was actually part of what drew her to the part in the first place:

“Absolutely – that was one of the things that was discussed when I was coming on for the part, and you know, we’ll see what happens. It’s such a nice world that we live in that crossover can happen so often now which in the past it never really did so, to see these worlds come together on the screen and the big screen is really cool.”

I for one would love to see Palicki go from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to something like Avengers 3 or even Captain America 3, which may in fact feature Hawkeye in some capacity. Mockingbird is too good a character to confine solely to the television series, and we can all agree that we need more female superheroes on film. How about a Black Widow/Mockingbird team-up movie? Now that would be cool….

Tell us, would you like to see Adrianne Palicki appear as Mockingbird in a future Marvel film? Or is she better suited for TV? Let us know in the comments below.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs on ABC on Tuesday nights. Mockingbird makes her television debut on the upcoming fifth episode of the second season, “A Hen in the Wolf House,” which airs on October 21st.
