The A-Holes Are Off On Another Adventure In New Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Trailer

We're only a few months into 2017, but already Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a clear frontrunner for having the best marketing campaign of the year. Seriously, it's been amazing how much great footage Marvel's been able to show off without revealing anything at all really about the plot. Even most of the new characters remain a completely mystery, yet fans are still hooked, finding themselves reeling after every new promo.

Tonight’s third, and presumably final full trailer does nothing to change that, as it once again presents another explosive, bite-sized amount of footage that shies away from plot details in favor of giving us more wacky humor, thrilling action, some gorgeous visuals, plenty of adorable Baby Groot moments and, of course, another excellent song choice. Not to mention that oh so tantalizing tease at the end of Kurt Russell’s Ego the Living Planet.

It all makes for an exciting taste of what’s to come in just a few months’ time and has us feeling pretty confident that the blockbuster will have no trouble matching, nay, surpassing what came before it. Bold words, we know, but Vol. 2 might just be one the very few sequels that’s actually better than its predecessor, joining an exclusive club that includes the likes of Toy Story 2The Dark Knight, Terminator 2: Judgement Day and The Empire Strikes Back, among a few others – depending on who you ask.

But I digress. James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 blasts into theaters on May 5th. It won’t be the only Marvel film to land this year, either. Far from it, in fact, as we also have Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok to look forward to as well, which debut in July and November, respectively. Staying in the here and now though, take a look at the new trailer up above, along with a dazzling poster down below, and let us know what you think of the new footage by commenting in the usual place.
