Amy Poehler And Tina Fey Are Finally Family In Teaser For Sisters

As much as we might love them in their separate creative projects, there's no doubt that when Amy Poehler and Tina Fey get together, things get a whole lot funnier. I think most of us can agree that their time on the Golden Globes made that awards show much more entertaining than it had any right to be, and now we will get to see them play siblings in their upcoming comedy Sisters.

The new teaser for the film, which was released today, tells us almost nothing about it, except that Fey and Poehler are in starring and that it’s probably going to be funny. The pair play sisters who decide to throw one last party at their childhood home before it goes up for sale. Based on what we see in this far too short 16 second spot, that will mean laughing, dancing, and being generally wild and crazy. We should expect nothing less from this team, but hopefully the film will be more than just jokes about women growing older, as we briefly see in this teaser. Poehler and Fey really should be better than that.

For those who don’t know, the two actresses have worked together for a long time now, appearing together as the Weekend Update team on Saturday Night Live, then in 2008’s Baby Mama, not to mention all their Golden Globe gigs. It will be nice to see them together on the big screen once more, alongside some of their SNL chums like Rachel Dratch and Maya Rudolph. What’s more, it will also mean that Will Ferrell and his gang of boys no longer have a corner on the wild and crazy party market; the women are once more getting in on the fun, and we can hope that it will be good.

Sisters was directed by Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) and written by SNL writer Paula Pell. It will come to cinemas on December 18, 2015.
