Anna Kendrick Falls In And Out Of Love In Full Trailer For Musical Comedy The Last 5 Years

If the first full-length trailer for The Last 5 Years -- the cinematic interpretation of Jason Robert Brown's eponymous musical -- proves anything, it's that Anna Kendrick has quickly become the unofficial starlet of the modern Hollywood musical. Having caught eyes and turned heads in Pitch Perfect, the actress will be hoping to perform a similar feat when Disney's Into The Woods arrives over the Christmas holidays.

But after venturing out into the fantastical realms of fairies and princesses, Kendrick will be next seen in Richard LaGravenese’s aforementioned adaptation as Cathy Hyatt, an out of luck actress who falls in love with Jeremy Jordan’s character of Jaime. It’s not radically original by any means, but the footage above hints at the chemistry between the two leading stars, who will see their once-blossoming relationship deteriorate over, you guessed it, the course of five years.

Having premiered at Toronto Film Festival in September, the movie was met with mixed to positive reviews, but given that there is still another three months before LaGravenese’s adaptation makes its bow in cinemas, there’s plenty of time for the studio to adjust its marketing campaign accordingly. Besides, considering that The Last 5 Years is scheduled to release on Valentine’s Day, there’s no doubting that Kendrick and Jordan will draw in a crowd.

The Last Five Years will hope to win over the hearts and minds of loved-up couples across the country when it arrives in theaters on February 13, 2015.
