Ant-Man’s New Costume In Avengers 4 Revealed

At 16 films strong, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now so vast and complex that there's always one or two projects incubating in development simultaneously. Case in point: Avengers: Infinity War and Peyton Reed's Ant-Man and the Wasp. Last month, the two 2018 tentpoles were both shooting scenes in the city of Atlanta - the undisputed hub of the MCU - before the former wrapped principal photography just prior to San Diego Comic-Con and co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo switched gears in favor of the so-far untitled Avengers 4.

Case in point: Avengers: Infinity War and Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. Last month, the two 2018 tentpoles were both shooting scenes in the city of Atlanta – the undisputed hub of the MCU – before the former wrapped principal photography just prior to San Diego Comic-Con and co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo switched gears in favor of the so-far untitled Avengers 4.

Not much is known about what’s set to go down in the hugely anticipated blockbuster just yet, given that it’s still so far out, but we can now confirm that Ant-Man will be getting a new costume for the film. Though not an official photo, the image below shows off a couple Marvel actors suited up as their characters, and front and centre is none other than Paul Rudd as Scott Lang – standing alongside Karen Gillan, Evangeline Lilly and Zoe Saldana.

While the three actresses look how you’d expect them to as Nebula, the Wasp and Gamora, respectively, it’s Ant-Man who’s drawn the most attention. That’s because he’s wearing a suit that’s slightly different from the one we last saw him in. A bit more sleek and with some added black, it’s not a drastic change nor will it stop the presses, but it’s still interesting to see him with an updated costume here. Not to mention that he won’t be the only Avenger wearing new threads in the film.

Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves, though. Next up for the MCU is the release of Thor: Ragnarok on November 3rd, at which point Taika Waititi’s wacky threequel will bring the curtain down on Marvel’s 2017 offerings. For the second year on the trot, 2018 will then herald three big-name tentpoles in Black Panther, Infinity War, and Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, before Avengers 4 slams into theaters on May 3rd, 2019. And no, it’s not called Infinity Gauntlet.
