Some time ago, we got our first glimpse of how former Game Of Thrones alum Jason Momoa would look as the big screen incarnation of Aquaman, and though the majority of us thought he looked pretty cool, comic book purists were a bit miffed (to say the least) that he didn’t seem to resemble DC’s more traditional take on the King of Atlantis.
Well, those same folks should probably prepare to get their knickers in a twist all over again, because it sounds like there are going to be a few more alterations to the character.
[zergpaid]Momoa appeared at Dallas Comic-Con recently and asked fans to “keep an open mind” about some of the “new things” they’ll witness in Aquaman’s journey to the big screen. He also confirmed that he’s been researching the most recent New 52 comics in preparation for the role:
So, there’s not really a lot of spoilers I can give away. But the research I’ve done on the New 52 stuff with Geoff Johns, and just researching who he is, he’s amazing. He’s got a lot of powers. He’s extremely tough. He’s super strong. But I’m excited about… there’s a big beautiful map laid out and I wish I could carry it with me. It’ll come out soon enough and you’ll see just how big it’s going to be.
Momoa will debut as Aquaman is next year’s Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, before going on to star in his solo adventure on July 27, 2018.
