Reports are surfacing tonight that tell us Attack The Block star John Boyega is wanted for Terminator: Genesis. According to THR, the actor is being eyed for the role of Miles Dyson’s son, Daniel. For those unfamiliar with Dyson, he was the “Cyberdyne engineer largely responsible for the birth of Skynet.”

The only problem here is that Boyega is also apparently up for a rather large role in Star Wars: Episode VII, and he obviously can’t do both. It’s no surprise that the young actor is so in demand, as those who have seen Attack The Block know just how talented he is. Unfortunately though, he can only attach himself to one mega-franchise and currently, we have no idea which one it will be.

We also don’t know how the character of Daniel Dyson will factor into the story of Terminator: Genesis. Plot details are being kept tightly under wraps at the moment but I imagine that Dyson will play a significant part.

Terminator: Genesis opens on July 1st, 2015 and will star Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney and J.K. Simmons. Stay tuned as we’ll be sure to bring you more casting updates as they develop.
