Vanity Fair Takes You Behind The Scenes Of Avengers: Infinity War With These Candid Pics

Go behind the scenes of Vanity Fair's recent cover shoot for Avengers: Infinity War with these candid new pics. Look for the Marvel epic to open in 2018.

For a film that largely revolves around the impending apocalypse – you can thank Thanos and his malevolent Black Order for that one – Avengers: Infinity War sure looked like a ton of fun to make.

Take Vanity Fair’s recent cover shoot as an example. Initially unveiled on Monday, just prior to the big trailer blowout, VF rounded up 35 of Infinity War‘s cast – not to mention MCU architect Kevin Feige and the great Stan Lee – for a truly historic photo shoot. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is fast approaching its 10th birthday, after all.

And today, the outlet has invited us behind the scenes with a smattering of candid new photos. Embedded below, you’ll see Feige and Robert Downey Jr. sharing a laugh in front of the camera, while Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming) and Evangeline Lilly (Ant-Man and the Wasp) are both suspended overhead. Fitting, really, given they’ll be reprising the roles of Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp come 2018. In fact, the latter is poised to double-dip, given Peyton Reed’s miniature sequel is penciled in for release in July.

Meanwhile, here’s that BTS preview, courtesy of Vanity Fair:

Also included in the gallery are up-close shots of Angela Bassett as Ramonda – expect T’Challa’s mother to feature quite prominently when Black Panther claws into theaters early next year – along with Letitia Wright and Karen Gillan as Shuri and Nebula, respectively.

The latter is known as the estranged daughter of Thanos – and step-sister to Gamora, the kickass bounty hunter played by Zoe Saldana – so there’s a good chance Nebula will enjoy a huge role across both Infinity War and the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4. Hell, there have even been rumblings that Gillan’s anti-hero will be the one to kill off Marvel’s Mad Titan in 2019, but it’ll be some time yet before the studio is ready to release more intel on what is undoubtedly their biggest movie to date.
