Earth’s Mightiest Heroes launching their own music video?
It’s the stuff of fan fiction, really, but according to Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Falcon), Marvel came awfully close to producing a full-blown music video for Avengers: Infinity War late last year.
Screen Rant has dug up an interview by the Radio Times which was conducted right around the time of the 2017 MCM London Comic-Con, and it was here where Mackie detailed the scrapped plans for a Marvel-themed music video. And no, it’s not April 1st.
We had this idea of making a music video, of this song. And we shot half of it, and then people realized how bad they were at dancing, and we couldn’t get anyone else to dance.
Elsewhere in the interview, Mackie also recalled some of the on-set shenanigans involving himself and Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming) that almost resulted in one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes finishing up in a lake.
I almost pushed Tom Holland in a lake. But then he got so angry he almost jumped in the lake trying to push me in the lake. Which made it so much better.
Could Anthony Mackie be referring to the immense Battle of Wakanda teased in the first Infinity War promo? It’s certainly possible, as subsequent reports have claimed that both Spidey and Drax also feature in the African set piece. Stay tuned for more on that one.
Once Black Panther‘s reign has come to an end, and T’Challa and the people of Wakanda become enshrined in box office history, all eyes in the industry will begin to turn toward Avengers: Infinity War. It’s currently scheduled for release on May 4th, and there have been rumblings that Marvel plans to drop the sequel’s full-length trailer early next week.
