Given that, Marvel Studios are keeping the proud tradition alive for what fans jokingly refer to as “the trailer for the trailer.” Yes, that may technically hold true, but this method of promotion is quickly becoming one of the best ways to raise awareness for a trailer’s arrival, with social media posts being neck-and-neck with it.

In this particular case, we’re given the sense that something’s about to hit the fan in a bad way because it looks like Thanos and his cronies are leaving a lot of destruction in their wake upon their arrival on Earth. Not only that, but the somber spin on the Avengers theme gives us the impression that the stakes can’t get any higher. Well, there’s that and the foreboding line “Avengers, the end is near.”

Not surprisingly, the big donnybrook that’s set to go down in Wakanda is again on display and naturally, there are a myriad of fan theories as to why the rumble will occur. But let’s not forget co-director Anthony Russo’s explanation for why it’s happening:

“Vision is a living MacGuffin. Obviously, that raises the stakes because Vision’s life is in danger, and his life is in conflict with Thanos’ goals, so something’s got to give. Cap makes the decision to bring [Vision] here to Wakanda. Earth is making its last stand to keep the stone from Thanos. It’s the best place to make your last stand.”

Stay tuned to We Got This Covered as we’ll be sure to bring you the new trailer as soon as it drops tomorrow. As for Avengers: Infinity War itself, that’ll arrive in theaters on April 27.
