If you thought Captain America: Civil War was packed to the rafters with superheroes, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Not only will Infinity War feature all of the usual suspects (Thor, the Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye, etc.), but it’s also bringing in a whole host of other characters including the Guardians of the Galaxy, Nebula, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, possibly Pip the Troll and many, many more. Some may say it’s too much, and we’d probably agree, but if there’s anyone who can pull it all off, it’s directors Joe and Anthony Russo.

Circling back to the production though, one which won’t include Benedict Cumberbatch, at least not for a while, the news comes to us from Collider’s Steven Weintraub. He Tweeted out the update earlier today and though he didn’t mention a source, it’s likely that he got the scoop from a recent interview he did at Sundance, as several members of the MCU are currently there promoting their films.

While the fact that the next two Avengers movies are entering production is hardly something to stop the presses, it’s still great to hear, as that means we’re one step closer now to getting an official cast list from the studio, not to mention possibly seeing some set photos and videos. Being quite possibly the biggest blockbuster of the next several years, fans are eager to get their hands on anything they can from the movie, and now that it’s about to get in front of the camera, the goodies should start popping up on the web.

Avengers; Infinity War hits theaters on May 4th, 2018, while the currently untitled sequel will follow on May 3rd, 2019.
