Avengers: Infinity War Super Bowl Spot Gives Great Look At Bucky’s New Arm

Since his MCU debut in Captain America: The First Avenger, Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes has grown into a bona fide fan-favorite, particularly after his villainous turn in the really rather excellent Winter Soldier. And while Marvel comic book readers believe it's only a matter of time before Barnes assumes the Captain America title, we still have no confirmation on if that'll indeed happen. What we can tell you, though, is that the character will be receiving an upgraded arm for his next big screen appearance, which comes in Avengers: Infinity War.

As you’ll surely remember, Civil War saw Iron Man destroy Bucky’s cyborg arm. Obviously, though, we knew he wouldn’t be running around the MCU missing a limb and sure enough, the first trailer for Joe and Anthony Russo’s upcoming blockbuster featured him with both arms in tact. Now, Marvel’s released a second preview and once again, Mr. Barnes’ new limb is featured in all its glory, giving us a pretty good look at it.

It’s quite different from his previous prosthetic, too, but before we go any further, feel free to pore over it once more in the gallery down below (which also includes a number of other screenshots from the new Super Bowl trailer).

Looks badass, right? Gone is the silver plating and instead, we’ve got an arm that appears to be made of Vibranium. After all, we know Bucky’s been housed up in Wakanda, with T’Challa’s sister, Shuri, helping him get back on his feet. She’s no doubt played a part in giving him his new limb, too, so we can only imagine it’s a significant upgrade over what he had before, making him a real force to be reckoned with.

Couple all this with the fact that Black Panther reportedly features not one, but two post-credits scenes, and surely we’ll get a glimpse of the sedated Bucky Barnes prior to his return in Avengers: Infinity War, right? All will be revealed on February 16th.
