Tessa Thompson Says Avengers: Infinity War Will Leave Fans Galvanized

Marvel fans will walk out of theaters galvanized after seeing Avengers: Infinity War. Or so says Thor: Ragnarok's Tessa Thompson.

“Mr. Stark, you’ve become part of a bigger universe. You just don’t know it yet.”

It’s going on 10 years since the Marvel Cinematic Universe first flickered into life with Jon Favreau’s Iron Man, and in that time, Marvel’s crown jewel has ballooned into one of the most successful film franchises ever to grace the silver screen – at $14 billion and counting, few Hollywood universes hold a candle to the MCU’s track record. And it’s one that’s about to reach dizzying new heights with Avengers: Infinity War.

Pegged for a release on April 27th – one week earlier than previously thought – Infinity War is expected to assemble some 76 characters when the lights go down late next month, and it’s those same characters that have helped propel the MCU into the box office history books. Or so says Tessa Thompson.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Thor: Ragnarok actress said Marvel fans will walk out of theaters galvanized after laying eyes on Infinity War:

Oh my gosh, I think galvanized, you know? Yeah, I think galvanized.

Why, you ask? Well, for one, Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination of a legacy that began 10 long years ago, meaning Joe and Anthony Russo’s blockbuster will deliver what is perhaps the ultimate cinematic pay-off next month – you know, before Avengers 4 tends to unfinished business in 2019.

Thomspon continued:

The thing that I feel, way before I was ever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, before I dreamt that I ever would be, is that their characters are, you know, in epic proportion. These superheroes, these God-like characters and also meanwhile incredibly human. I’ve always felt that the strength of Marvel films are not just, you know, the action sequences which of course we love as audience members, but really dynamically that action that happens between these characters.

And after 10 years’ worth of build-up and city-leveling spectacle, we simply can’t wait to catch Avengers: Infinity War on the biggest screen we can find. April 27th is the date for your diaries.
