One of this winter’s most anticipated films for kids and kids-at-heart is The LEGO Movie, featuring the voice cast of Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, Will Arnett and Morgan Freeman.

When a full-length trailer hit the Internet in November, it included an infectiously catchy tune, “Everything is Awesome,” which mirrored the high-energy and candy-coloured action on display in the movie. Now, the film’s first TV spot highlights that same song, which has the potential to do two things. First, it could prove to be a worthy phrase for audiences to rave if the The LEGO Movie lives up to expectations. Secondly, it could become a meme à la “Circus Afro” (from the third Madagascar movie) that both delighted kids for its wild spirit and annoyed anyone older than middle-school age.

Although there is genuine excitement among teens and young adults for the PG-rated family adventure, a tad worrisome is how much the commercial focuses on spectacle over the story. For those who haven’t been keeping up, the plot of The LEGO Movie follows an average LEGO minifigure named Emmet (voiced by Chris Pratt), who joins a fellowship of heroes to take down President Business (Will Ferrell), who desires world domination.

Among the characters that will appear alongside Emmet in his quest are LEGO Batman (Will Arnett) and LEGO Superman (Channing Tatum), both of whom are featured on two new posters that were released today alongside the spot.

You can check out all the promotional material below and be sure to catch The LEGO Movie when it arrives on February 7th.
