Baby Groot Is Adorably Clueless In This New Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 TV Spot

There was a time when Marvel Studios would pretty much lay out the entire plot of their movies in trailers and TV spots, but that's something which has thankfully changed in recent years, hence why we're heading into Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 knowing very little about the upcoming sequel.

This latest promo for the James Gunn-helmed release similarly keeps us in the dark about what to expect, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t still packed full of exciting new footage. For starters, we get a tense (but very funny) confrontation between Star-Lord and Rocket Raccoon as they bicker over who should pilot the Milano. Predictably, the highlight comes a little later when a clueless Baby Groot – who continues to be ridiculously adorable – seemingly attempts to help Yondu and Rocket escape from their confinement with a pair of the former’s underwear.

Overall, it’s an amusing promo that once again shows off the wonderful team dynamic and exhilarating action that’s to come, promising a sequel that might just surpass its predecessor. A tall order, to be sure, but one that we’re confident it can fill. We’re just hoping that the studio doesn’t spoil too much more before the film arrives in a few months’ time, as they’ve shown off quite a bit already.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 blasts into theaters on May 5th. It won’t be the only Marvel film to land this year, either. Far from it, in fact, as we also have Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok to look forward to as well, which debut in July and November, respectively. Staying in the here and now though, take a look at the new promo up above and let us know what you think of the new footage by commenting in the usual place.
