It’s all in an effort to win over the affection of Wahlberg’s kids. He plays a cocksure and dashing ex-lover who is essentially the ying to Ferrell’s buttoned-up yang. Throwing a spanner in the works when he returns home to his ex-wife, the mere presence of Wahlberg’s freewheeling Dusty tees up a fierce competition between the two leads, and today’s array of clips showcase the mano-a-mano standoff that ensues.

Coming by way of Paramount Pictures and Red Granite Pictures, the studios also unveiled a slew of images for Daddy’s Home, though it’s the TV spots and clips that give some indication of just how far out of his depth Ferrell’s character really is. Sean Anders and John Morris’ (Horrible Bosses 2) family comedy finds a home when Daddy’s Home arrives in theaters on December 26. Until then, you can gain a gist of Wahlberg and Ferrell’s near effortless chemistry via the new clips and images below.

Daddy’s Home follows a mild-mannered radio executive (Ferrell) who strives to become the best stepdad to his wife’s two children, but complications ensue when their freewheeling and freeloading real father (Wahlberg) arrives, forcing him to compete for the affection of the kids.
