Just when you thought it was safe to venture back out onto the streets of Toronto, members of Task Force X have spilled onto sidewalks of the Canadian city once more – or, rather, their stunt doubles have. In the latest – and surely final – batch of set photos from David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, eTalk has unearthed images of Batman, The Joker and Harley Quinn all partaking in a scene that will be all too familiar for those who have kept up with every shred of information pouring out of Warner’s villainous feature.
In fact, we’ve also posted the original set photos from when the scene was first shot, and you can check them out along with the new snaps in the gallery above.
Essentially, it’s the car chase sequence from Suicide Squad that is spotlighted here, which is, as far as we understand, the main scene that is to feature Ben Affleck as The Caped Crusader. Further in eTalk’s report, the outlet also posted a brief description of how said scene plays out; however, if you’re wanting to go into Ayer’s supervillain flick with a blank slate, we’d advise against reading on.
Still with us? Okay, good. According to this information dump, Affleck’s gruff hero crashes through the roof of The Joker’s car, sending the Crown Prince of Crime, Harley and his ostentatious ride careering into the water. Thankfully, Batman manages to rappel off the automobile at the eleventh hour.
Here’s the full logline:
“Batman breaks through the top of The Joker’s car, as The Joker and Harley Quinn sit inside. As the car goes plunging into the water, Batman repels off just in time.”
Principal photography has now wrapped up on Suicide Squad, with Warner’s high-profile adaptation now entering its post-production stage as the VFX team begin to round out the nascent vision. As this is probably a major action sequence in the final film, it’s likely that WB and David Ayer wanted to capture another couple of takes of the scene for good measure.
When all is said and done, the final version of the film will have Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as El DIablo, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, as well as Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, Raymond Olubowale, Alex Meraz, Jim Parrack, and Common.
Suicide Squad will land in theaters on August 5, 2016.
