We’ve got a very interesting Bat-related rumor for you guys here on this quiet Friday. According to JoBlo, the solo Batman movie in the works at Warner Bros. will be based on two very popular DC Comic arcs: A Death In The Family and Under The Hood. The former sees the Joker murder the second Robin, Jason Todd, only for the character to be resurrected as the villainous Red Hood in the latter.

The site reckons the plot will stick pretty close to the source material, too, saying:

The basic plotline of Affleck’s [rumored director] solo Batfilm is that Jason Todd has returned from the grave as the Red Hood, working in the shadows to make people think he’s Batman, while making Batman look like a criminal. At the same time he leaves clues about his identity for Bruce/Batman to ultimately solve, leading to a confrontation that will involve Batman, Red Hood, and yes, The Joker, who will feature as a primary villain alongside Red Hood.

Apparently, the original Robin Dick Grayson will also feature in the film, teaming up with the Caped Crusader in his Nightwing guise to help take down the Joker and the Red Hood. Word is that WB is looking for an unknown actor for the Todd role, and his Red Hood costume will be influenced by both his comic book and Arkham video game appearances.

This is just a rumor for now of course, but fans have wanted to see a big screen take on the Red Hood  – and Nightwing for that matter – for a very long time, so hopefully this turns out to be legit.
