Everyone is focused on Star Wars: The Force Awakens right now, but we’ll no doubt see a ton of merchandise for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice dominating toy stores next March. That will obviously include LEGO sets, and three of those have been revealed today by The Wall Street Journal. The big question, of course, is whether or not any of these reveal new story details about the film.
As per usual, it’s hard to say, though it definitely feels unlikely that the movie will conclude with a battle between The Trinity and Lex Luthor in a helicopter. More interesting, however, is the fact that LexCorp employees have access to a great deal of Kryptonite, while the armoured Batman is wielding a weapon which seemingly shoots Kryptonite.
That actually matches up with some of the rumours we’ve heard, so chances those do at least offer some hints about Batman V Superman. Regardless, all of these sets (and more) are set to go on sale early next year, and it will be interesting to see if we get a LEGO Doomsday at some point, especially as many fans remain convinced that he’ll undergo some sort of evolution which makes him look a little closer to his comic book counterpart.
Starring Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film, Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to open in theaters on March 25th, 2016.
