Last week we brought you the information that Benedict Cumberbatch refused to deny rumors about his possible involvement in either Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice or a Justice League movie. This week, we can inform you that Mr. Cumberbatch is having a great time with those rumors, and wants us all to keep them coming. Your wish is our command, Benedict!

Following a few reports that he might be playing either Brainiac or Martian Manhunter in a DC Universe film, EOnline asked Cumberbatch point blank if there was any truth in these persistent rumors that everyone keeps making up. The witty Brit replied: “I think Batman V Superman is going to happen. It’s a film that’s being made.” He went on to say that he’s “not at liberty to say whether I’m Batman or Superman.” Cumberbatch is perfectly happy to let the rumor mill keep turning, especially when it comes to Justice League, which he does not address with the same flippancy. He does say that he loves these rumors, though.

This will not put an end to rumors surrounding Cumberbatch, of course. He’s one of those actors that everyone thinks should be in everything, and he’s declined to deny playing characters before. What all this really comes down to is a desperation to know something – anything – about the building of the DC Universe. We cannot all subsist on Marvel rumors, you know. We need to change things up a bit. Of all the rumors possible, there could be worse ones than “Benedict Cumberbatch is going to be in this!”

Whether or not it has Benedict Cumberbatch in it, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will premiere on March 25, 2016. Until then, you expect many more posts like this one.
