With the release of Doctor Strange only a few weeks away, questions and rumors have been swirling about where Marvel will take the character once he’s made his debut. At a recent press conference for the film today, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that Strange will return for Avengers: Infinity War.

The announcement has long been rumored and as such is not unexpected, but we are glad to have open confirmation that Strange will not stop when the movie does. Not that anyone expected he would – Marvel wouldn’t be introducing the character now if they didn’t intend to keep him going for a very long time. But his involvement in Infinity War is interesting and exciting, as he’s added to the ever-growing roster of superheroes that will appear in that film (some of whom may not survive until the end). Chances are that there will be indications within Doctor Strange of what part Strange will eventually play in Infinity War.

Of course, we do not yet know how well Doctor Strange will do at the box office, or whether this will be a first flop for Marvel. Recent reactions have been pretty positive, and there’s no doubt that the visuals will be impressive at the very least, but still, Strange is a new character for many people, so the film is going to have to work hard to introduce us to a character that many moviegoers know nothing about.

What role Strange will play in Avengers: Infinity War remains to be seen, but you can be sure there will be more rumors, speculation, and fan theories about that, especially after Doctor Strange’s release. I guess it’s a good time to be a Marvel fan.

Doctor Strange will hit theatres on November 4th, 2016.
