Black Panther and Iron Man

New Rumor Suggests Black Panther’s Post-Credits Scene Involves Tony Stark

One of Black Panther's post-credits scenes will allegedly feature Tony Stark and Thanos' ship, if a new online rumor is to be believed.

Even after Marvel’s trailer debut for Ant-Man and the Wasp (see here), Black Panther very much remains the talk of the town.

It’s the first mainstream black superhero movie – a historic milestone in and of itself – and based on early reactions, Ryan Coogler and the team have delivered a standalone outing fit for a king. The king of Wakanda, to be specific.

That’s a title resting on the burly shoulders of T’Challa, Chadwick Boseman’s newbie Avenger who made his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War – ditto for Spider-Man. Back then, he fell in behind Black Widow, War Machine and Vision on Team Iron Man, though T’Challa was more concerned with bringing Bucky Barnes to justice after allegedly killing his father, T’Chaka, in cold blood.

Still, the bond between Black Panther and Iron Man was set, and according to a new online rumor, it is Tony Stark who reaches out to Wakanda – to T’Challa – in one of the film’s customary post-credits scenes.

File this one in the rumor cabinet for now, as the alleged piece of intel can be traced back to Reddit, which isn’t exactly what one would call a reliable source. Nevertheless, the anonymous tip suggests Black Panther‘s post-credits scene will see Stark contact T’Challa about the “interstellar threats” headed toward Earth, before the camera cuts to Thanos’ warship, the Sanctuary II, closing in on the hapless lifeboat from Thor: Ragnarok.

Indeed, this is awfully similar to the ending of Taika Waititi’s threequel, and Marvel isn’t one to tread over familiar ground when it comes to foreshadowing and post-credits scenes. Besides, the more we think about it, there’s really not much point including a reference to the Asgardian refugee ship when the focus of Black Panther is Wakanda.

But what do you think? Is this Reddit rumor on to something big? Or are you more of the belief that it’s simply hogwash? You can, as always, drop your thoughts and predictions down below.
