Killmonger, Okoye And More Headline Black Panther’s First Posters

Geeks of Color have relayed two all-new posters for Black Panther, which brings us closer to some of the film's supporting players.

Hollywood is no stranger to commercial tie-ins – just look at Justice League‘s recent promo that released in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz.

With Black Panther, it’s a little different. As reported by Geeks of Color (via CBM), the Marvel tentpole recently staged a media event to showcase the Lexus LC 500 as it appears in Ryan Coogler’s 2018 spinoff – perhaps it has something to do with that much-touted chase sequence that was filmed in Seoul, South Korea?

Either way, Geeks of Color managed to capture a pair of awesome new posters for Black Panther, which are designed to bring us closer to the film’s supporting players. Front and center is Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, the would-be king of Wakanda, while there’s also an up-close look at Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Okoye (Danai Gurira). Last and certainly not least is Erik Killmonger as played by Michael B. Jordan, who will be marking his third collaboration with Coogler following Fruitvale Station and last year’s boxing hit Creed.

It’s a little unusual to see T’Challa’s glowering eyes peer out through the Black Panther mask, though we imagine that famous helmet will have some form of retractable lens similar to those seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming. And you can expect both of those fan-favorites to share the screen once more when Avengers: Infinity War swings into theaters next summer.

Said to be unlike any other superhero movie before it, which is something we’ve been hearing a lot from Marvel Studios lately, Black Panther claws its way into theaters on February 16th, 2018. Closer to home, Thor: Ragnarok is slated for a release on November 3rd, and writer-director Taika Waititi has even entertained the thought of a fourth solo movie for Marvel’s God of Thunder.
