The Bourne saga is not dead yet! The teaser trailer for the upcoming movie, The Bourne Legacy was released today along with a new poster. Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) will star as Aaron Cross in the spin-off to Universal’s successful series.

The two minute trailer gives us a bit of backstory as well as a little tease of what Renner is going to look like as an action hero, which is definitely nice to see, considering many moviegoers may not yet be familiar with him.

Better yet though is the fact that we may be getting a less nauseating ride this time around. People who weren’t fans of the shaky camera in The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum will be happy to know that if this new trailer is anything to go on, director and writer Tony Gilroy will not be using the same effect. It looks like he is going back to Doug Liman and The Bourne Identity’s steady camera, which is a welcome decision.

It also seems as if Cross is an even deadlier assassin then the infamous Bourne, if that’s even possible. Wasn’t Bourne the deadliest agent that ever came out of Treadstone?

For me, I’m most interested in seeing how they incorporate Cross into Bourne’s world. And more importantly, how audiences will react to a Bourne movie without Bourne.

What do you think?

The Bourne Legacy stars Renner alongside Edward Norton (Fight Club), Rachel Weisz (Dream House), and Oscar Isaac (Drive), among others.

The Bourne Legacy opens up August 3rd, 2012.
