Brie Larson Prepares For Some Stunts In New Captain Marvel Set Pics

A big new batch of Captain Marvel set photos have landed online today, showing Brie Larson doing some stunt work for a scene.

There’s never quite been a hero in the MCU like Carol Danvers – she’s Captain Marvel, for crying out loud!

Imbued with superhuman strength, speed and flight thanks to a near-death accident, Brie Larson’s former Air Force pilot promises to bring something truly special to the lineup of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes – think old-school Captain America mixed with “sassy, smartass” humor – when she’s seen alongside the ensemble cast of Avengers 4 early next year.

Before then, however, Larson faces the tricky task of shouldering her own standalone superhero movie. We’re fairly confident that she’ll be able to accomplish the job with aplomb – she’s a tremendously talented actress, after all – but until we get an official look at her in action, all we’ve really got to go on are set pics. Thankfully, then, there’s been plenty of them, with the latest batch arriving today and showing off Larson doing some stunt work for a scene.

While the context of what’s going on here is unclear, it’s always nice getting another glimpse into the 2019 pic’s production, as there’s much buzz and excitement surrounding it at the moment. Much of that is due to its stellar cast, with Marvel’s final roll call for the spinoff including Nick Fury himself, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Clark Gregg (!) and Jude Law as Doctor Walter Lawson (Mar-Vell), a high-ranking Kree soldier who proves instrumental in Carol’s origin story.

It’s taken a long time – too long, perhaps – for Captain Marvel to receive the big-screen treatment, but after 10 years and 18 installments, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally ready to swing its doors open to Carol Danvers. And we couldn’t be more excited.

Look for the pic to open worldwide on March 8th, 2019 – long after the back-to-back release of Avengers: Infinity War and Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, which has blazed its own path by adapting Ghost as a female villain. And a bloody powerful one at that.
