You’ve seen her paying a visit to Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada and caught a glimpse of the dressed-down Brie Larson moseying around the set, but thanks to Page Six, we now have an early glimpse of the future Carol Danvers suited and booted as Captain Marvel.

Presumably donning an early Kree/Mar-Vell version of her famous costume, Larson’s hero can be seen studying a giant document – likely a part of the production set-up – before overpowering an unarmed goon with ease. We’re also learning that Rob Kazinsky, star of Warcraft and Pacific Rim, has joined the cast of Captain Marvel in an unspecified role, though we’ve yet to hear anything official from the Powers That Be.

Circling back to these newly-unveiled set pics, below you’ll find our first real look at Brie Larson in costume. It may not be what you’re expecting, as Captain Marvel is typically dressed in a fiery red, but it’s important to remember that the early incarnations of Carol’s super-suit were, in fact, green. Besides, Tony Stark/Iron Man is living proof that an MCU hero needn’t be defined by their maiden suit.

Story-wise, we know Carol Danvers initially rose through the ranks of the United States Air Force, and was later appointed by NASA as head of security. From there, her DNA is fused with that of an alien during a near-fatal accident, resulting in the superpowers of strength, energy projection, and flight. So it’s small wonder why Kevin Feige believes she’ll be the strongest addition to the MCU in years.

Whether she appears in Avengers: Infinity War or not, there’s a Captain Marvel movie coming down the pipe, and it’ll largely take place in the 1990s – perhaps that explains why Samuel L. Jackson was recently pictured sans eyepatch? We’ll be keeping a close, eh, eye on Brie Larson’s MCU solo flick – and all other projects in the studio’s cinematic universe – as it develops, so stay tuned.
