Cate Blanchett Joins The Hobbit

As expected, Cate Blanchett has joined the cast of The Hobbit, reprising her role as Galadriel, the Lady of Lothlorien. In addition to Blanchett, several other actors have joined the cast. Ken Stott will join the cast to play Dwarf Lord Balin. Sylvester McCoy will be taking on the role of Radagast The Brown and Mikael Persbrandt will play Beorn. They join quite a large cast that includes, but is not limited to James Nesbitt, Richard Armitage, Graham McTavish and Ian McKellen. For now, the only other information we really know is that Peter Jackson will direct and Howard Shore will compose the score. And, of course, the film will be shot in 3D, aiming for a December 2012 release date.
