Channing Tatum Will Lead White House Down

Channing Tatum may very well be one of the busiest actors working in Hollywood. The man is everywhere lately. He won the hearts of young girls everywhere with The Vow and got to make audiences laugh the hardest they have all year with 21 Jump Street. That's not all though, in the next few months he'll show off his body in the stripper film Magic Mike and he'll get a chance to engage in some action again with G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Channing Tatum may very well be one of the busiest actors working in Hollywood. The man is everywhere lately. This year, he won the hearts of young girls everywhere with The Vow and got to make audiences laugh the hardest they have all year with 21 Jump Street. That’s not all though, in the next few months he’ll show off his body in the stripper film Magic Mike and he’ll get a chance to engage in some action again with G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Tatum’s stock is definitely on the rise and this week, THR is reporting that the actor will add another high profile pic to his resume, Sony’s White House Down, from director Roland Emmerich. The script, which is said to be a mix of Die Hard and Air Force One, is from James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man) and it will have Tatum playing a “Secret Service agent who has to save the president and defend the highest office in the land when it comes under a paramilitary attack.”

I must admit, Tatum is building quite a name for himself. Though I don’t see an Oscar with his name on it anywhere in the near future, he is starting to put together an impressive resume, which is helping him become quite the box office draw.

White House Down seems like a good film for him to lead. It will bring him more exposure and I think that it could give him an additional career boost. He’s still not an A-list star but with a few more high profile pics under his belt, he very well could be.

There’s no word yet on additional cast but production will start this Summer.
