While director James Wan has been sharing a lot of behind the scenes images on Instagram, we now have the first official photo from The Conjuring 2. The highly anticipated horror sequel brings back Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren as they tackle an even more disturbing case than the first.
In the image above, we meet Janet (Madison Wolfe), one of the four young children of Peggy Hodgson. The family is plagued by what the director describes as, “probably one of the most documented paranormal cases in the world.”
However, the filmmaker will no doubt be providing the most terrifying take on the story yet. Set in Enfield, London, the movie takes place in the late 1970s and revolves around claims from the family that their house is haunted and they’re suffering from mysterious banging noises, demonic voices, and furniture being flung around by an unseen entity (something we seemingly get a look at above).
The Conjuring 2 was written by Chad and Carey Hayes and it’s set to be released on June 10th, 2016. For now, take a look at the first image above and get ready for a trailer, as it will likely be with us early in the new year.
