Chris Evans And Chris Hemsworth Have Unfollowed James Gunn On Twitter

As the James Gunn saga continues to unfurl, we've learned tonight that both Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans have unfollowed the MCU director.

This past weekend, the core Guardians cast broke their silence regarding Disney’s decision to part ways with James Gunn, erstwhile director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and a key creative figure in the wider MCU.

It was an announcement that rocked the industry, and it’s only now, 10 days after the Mouse House made the call, that we’re beginning to wrap our heads around everything that’s transpired. But it appears that not everyone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is totally alright with Mr. Gunn at the moment.

ComicBook.com are reporting today that both Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans, two fixtures of the MCU, have quietly unfollowed the Guardians director amidst all the chaos. Perhaps that’s not the biggest deal in the world and some may say it could mean nothing at all – which it very well could – but it is a bit suspicious that they’ve chosen to cut social media ties with him as all this is going on, wouldn’t you say?

In all likelihood, the two actors are just trying to keep their distance from what’s very quickly becoming a toxic situation. And really, can you blame them? In today’s age, where everyone’s social media profiles are under intense scrutiny, it’s important to make sure that what you have online can’t be misconstrued or used against you somewhere down the road.

Not that there’s anything wrong with following James Gunn, of course, but again, given how much this whole ordeal is spiraling out of control, they’d probably rather be safe than sorry. That, or they’re against his actions and don’t want to show their support. Unlike, say, the Guardians cast has been doing.

Either way, it’s yet another interesting development in the ongoing James Gunn saga and as soon as we have any further updates, we’ll be sure to let you know.
