Chris Hemsworth Can Do Anything In New Images From Black Hat And Heart Of The Sea

Not content with being a race-car driver, an action-fantasy hero, and a god, Chris Hemsworth continues to flex his acting muscles (and a few other muscles too) in several films that will have their premiere at the start of next year. With the appearance of several new images of Hemsworth in his latest roles, we can once again say, without a doubt, that this is one attractive man.

Going beyond the mundanities of our leading man’s appearance, first up is Michael Mann’s Black Hat. This film represents the first piece of work from the director since Public Enemies in 2009. Hemsworth is a “blackhat hacker” who has served part of his prison sentence and is offered a chance at freedom by helping to hunt down a cybercrime network, working with Chinese and American partners as they go globe-trotting on the trail of the villains. The cast of Black Hat also includes Viola Davis, John Ortiz, and Wei Tang.

Chris Hemsworth’s other notable project belongs to his Rush director Ron Howard and is entitled Heart of the Sea. This time the star sets his baby blues on the far horizon as the first mate on a crew stranded at sea for 90 days. They eventually descend into cannibalism after being stalked by a sperm whale in a tale that inspired Herman Melville’s epic to end all epics, Moby Dick. That cast boasts of the talents of Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson, and Tom Holland to keep things interesting.

In other words: things are looking good for Chris Hemsworth in 2015. We will also get to see him in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but it’s nice to see that he’s continuing to take on varied and interesting roles with some excellent directors.

Black Hat will premiere on January 16, 2015, and Heart of the Sea arrives barely a month later on March 13. You can check out the new images from the films below.
