Chris Pratt as Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy

Chris Pratt Hoping To Stick Around The MCU For A Long Time

Though several heroes will definitely be making their exit from the MCU after Avengers 4, it doesn't sound like Chris Pratt's Star-Lord will be one of them.

“Star-Lord, man…legendary outlaw?”

Peter Quill has come a long, long way from heckling aliens on Morag, as he’s about to buddy up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes for both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4. And though some of the gang may be making their exit from the MCU after that, it certainly doesn’t sound like Pratt will be one of them.

Taking to Instagram to issue a heartfelt thank you to Marvel Studios and its immense fanbase, the actor not only teased a “great role” for Star-Lord in the aforementioned Infinity War, but also expressed his hope to continue working with the House of Ideas for the next little while.

Ten years in the making! I’m humbled to be part of this #MarvelClassPicture and to have such a great role in the upcoming Avengers Infinity War. The movie, as you can tell, is going to be off the freakin’ chain. Marvel Studios has not only changed my life and the lives of every person in this photo they have entertained millions, if not billions of people around this planet. I’m so thankful to everyone at Marvel for the opportunity of a lifetime. And to the fans for making each movie such an event. I hope to work for the studio for a long time. I know they have many more stories to tell. I believe the best is yet to come.

It’s nice to see Pratt showing his appreciation here. While he was certainly successful before, it was really Guardians of the Galaxy that skyrocketed him to the A-list. As such, it’s no surprise that he’s so thankful to the studio and hopes to continue working with them for the foreseeable future. Luckily for him, it looks like he’ll get his wish, too.

And that’s because after Avengers 4, we know that Star-Lord and the rest of his crew will return for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The threequel will be with us at some point in 2020, but after that, Pratt’s time in the MCU might be nearing its end. James Gunn has already said that Vol. 3 will be the last film in the series to star the original team and with more and more new characters being added to the franchise each and every year, it might be time to say goodbye to Peter Quill after that.

Still, fans can rest easy knowing that they at least have several more opportunities to spend time with Pratt’s beloved character and we can’t wait to see what he gets up to once he crosses paths with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes this May.
