Despite what many would have you believe, when The Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20th, it may not be the last time that we see actor Christian Bale suiting up as the caped crusader. Comic Book Movie is reporting that Bale is open to doing another film, which puts to rest previous rumors that the Bat may meet his end in The Dark Knight Rises.
“My understanding is that this is the last one. I think it’s appropriate, I think it’s going out at the right time. But…if Chris came to me with a script and said, ‘You know what? There is another story’ then I would love the challenge of making a fourth one work.”
Bale may just be messing with audiences but who knows? That being said, Bale says, “if Chris came to me,” meaning that he would probably only return if Nolan was on board, and Nolan has already stated that he’s done with the character.
Of course, this should all be taken with a grain of salt and likely, The Dark Knight Rises will be Bale’s last outing.
