New Clip And Poster Tease Liam Neeson’s Final Mission In Taken 3

20th Century Fox plans to send ex-CIA operative Bryan Mills out with a bang in Taken 3; the last instalment of their action franchise. After the mediocre events of Taken 2, a third outing for the badass with a "particular set of skills" wasn't a guarantee. Nevertheless, strings were pulled and we're celebrating Mills' final hurrah next year with a new clip and brilliant one-sheet poster.

After the first trailer hit, opinion surrounding director Olivier Megaton’s second sequel in the franchise was positive. Effectively upping the tension tenfold, the story really does a number on poor old Mills by ruining his chances of a permanent reconciliation with his ex-wife Lenore (Famke Janssen.) Why? Because she’s murdered (don’t worry, this is all in the official synopsis, so it doesn’t stricly count as a plot spoiler.) Framed for the killing, Mills goes on the run again while attempting to protect his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace.)

This time, he’s not just up against shadowy stereotyped foreigners – he’s up against the U.S. government. The brief clip here has our leading man on the phone with Forest Whitaker’s Franck Dotzler, a law enforcer. Running at just under a a minute, it sets the tone for what we can expect next month. You can check it out above, along with the new poster below.

Taken 3 opens in theatres on January 8th, 2015.

For one last time, Mills must use his “particular set of skills,” to track down the real killers, exact his unique brand of justice, and protect the only thing that matters to him now – his daughter.
