Close-Up Photos Show Off Ant-Man And The Wasp’s New Costumes

Thanks to the ongoing CES, we now have some great new close-up photos that show off Ant-Man and the Wasp's spiffy costumes.

Hope Van Dyne won’t be the only one sporting a revamped suit in Ant-Man and the Wasp, as Scott Lang will also be getting some new duds for the 2018 sequel and today, thanks to the ongoing CES, we’ve got close-up photos that show off both costumes.

For the latter, the suit seems to retain the same black/red color scheme as its predecessor, though it’s a much cleaner and more streamlined look for the titular hero, who gears up “alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.”

Those breadcrumbs will seemingly lead our miniature heroes on a quest to find Janet van Dyne, the original Wasp who slipped into the Quantum Realm during the height of the Cold War. Her selfless act ultimately averted catastrophe, though her surviving spouse, Hank Pym, has been questioning her “death” ever since. Perhaps we’ll get some cold hard answers come 2018?

As for what the Wasp will be sporting, this isn’t our first look at her suit but with these close-up shots, we do get to see it in pretty good detail. Most notable is probably the mechanism on the back of the costume, which is no doubt for her retractable wings. That aside, it’s also interesting that there’s some more gold running through this version, when compared to the one that Hope was shown wearing in that still we got a while back.

Though we’ve yet to see much in the way of official promotional material for Ant-Man and the Wasp, things are certainly looking promising and we’re hopeful that it’ll turn out to be just as fun of a ride as the first one. After all, Ant-Man had a notoriously difficult production, which ended with Edgar Wright being summarily booted from the project. Many feared the worst, but the final product actually turned out to be pretty enjoyable. Fingers crossed then that director Peyton Reed will be able to knock it out of the park again.

Said to retain the zany humor and spectacular (and miniature!) visuals that ensured the original became a breakout success, Ant-Man and the Wasp has been positioned as Marvel’s follow-up act to Avengers: Infinity War and opens on July 6th, 2018.
