A new trailer for the documentary feature, Daft Punk Unchained, has been released online this week ahead of the film’s worldwide release at the end of the year (it already hit theatres in France back in June).

The footage in the trailer features many of the electric duo’s most famous recent collaborators, including Kanye West, Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers. They speak fondly of their appreciation for the French musicians, and credits for the feature suggest that they will all feature fairly heavily in telling Daft Punk’s story.

Perhaps most intriguing of all, however, is the focus that the trailer puts around the mysterious identities of the masked duo. Cutting clips from old interview features, the footage shows the two talking candidly about their desire to keep their faces hidden through their career. In the final shots, however, a tease of one member facing the camera and preparing to remove their helmet builds the anticipation for the feature perfectly.

Whether or not this final sequence actually yields anything groundbreaking remains to be seen, but you can expect to see Daft Punk Unchained in theatres across the world before the year’s end.
