As with the vast majority of other entries into the genre, this snippet features that scene; where the infected spanner gets thrown into the works and all hell breaks loose. Starring Jesse Metcalfe and Keegan Connor Tracy, we see the show’s main characters begin to piece together the puzzle to discover that, much like the title suggests, the dead are indeed beginning to rise up for a spot of lunch.

Mixing some interesting cinematography with first-person shots, Dead Rising: Watchtower is decidedly low-key, and that’s precisely the angle Lipovsky is aiming for. The fact that his adaptation is hitting the web as a digital release will no doubt allow for more creative freedom outside of the typical studio system, and we hope that the writing team takes the reins of this liberating advantage to differentiate the live-action incarnation from the hoards of other flesh-eating IPs in the business.

Dead Rising: Watchtower will premiere on March 27 via Crackle as a 90 minute movie, before proliferating to other platforms in the form of an episodic series.

After a zombie outbreak, four survivors must evade infection while tracking down the cause of the epidemic.. Over-the-top media coverage adds to the chaos while signs point to a government conspiracy. Starring Jesse Metcalfe (Dallas), Dennis Haysbert (Ted 2), Virginia Madsen (Sideways), Meghan Ory (Once Upon a Time), Keegan Connor Tracy (Once Upon a Time) and Rob Riggle (The Daily Show).
